Ski-ing In Greece
Snow skiing on the Greek Islands? - Well, No. However,
as well as Sun, Surf and
Beaches, it IS in fact possible to snow ski in Greece!
The Greek mountains of Vermino contain several Ski resorts,
which are open in the usual European dates over winter.
Seli is the oldest with Mount Parnassos the most popular
with an altitude of 1.600 to 2.300 metres and is the closest
ski-resort to Athens (2 hour
drive), the nearest train station being Amfiklia.
There are several ski resorts in the mountain which attracts
thousands of skiers, particularly popular
during public holidays and can get quite busy.
It is quite cheap compared to the usual popular ski-ing
resorts of Europe and America, so if well worth a visit.
