Greek Hotels, Island Accomodation and finding rooms
in Greece
Finding accommodations in Greece is not difficult, and
you have many options to choose from. There are the typical
Greek hotels, along with villas, apartments, rooms, hostels
and camping available for people traveling in Greece.
Hotels in Greece are rated as either LUX (for luxury)
or A, B, C, D, E by the Greek National Tourist Organization
according to the amenities they offer. "A" class
is reserved for some of the best hotels in Greece. Greek
hotels in the "B" and "C" class are
the best choice for the budget traveler as they are very
clean and the service they provide is excellent. Those
rated "D", or "E" may lack certain
amenities and usually don't include a private bathroom
or shower- however, keep in mind that a very clean hotel
can be rated an "E" simply because it lacks
a swimming pool, or restaurant. Greek hotel prices are
regulated by the Greek National
Tourist Organization.
There is also the option of "rooms for rent".
This Greek accommodation is basically a room in an apartment
that the apartment owner is renting to travelers. They
don't normally offer breakfast, wake up calls or restaurants,
but they are charming in their own right and tend to be
very clean and affordable.
If the great outdoors is more your style, you can always
go camping while you're in Greece! There are plenty of
organized camping grounds in Greece where you can pitch
a tent, park your Mobile Home, or just lay in your sleeping
bag under the stars. They are usually near the best beaches,
and most offer running water, communal showers, and toilets.
Camping may be the most inexpensive Greek accommodation
option.
If you are traveling with a group, a large family, or
you plan to stay in one place in Greece for quite some
time, you might opt for a Greece apartment. Apartment
accommodation tends to be a fully furnished unit, consisting
of 2 or 3 rooms, and often with a kitchen.
