The sprawling, beautiful city of Athens is a named after
Athena who is the goddess of wisdom.
It is said to be the home of democracy and the cradle
of civilisation, with many wonderful building such as
the Acropolis and is one of the oldest cities in the western
world.
The Acropolis, built around 2500 years ago and was the
building used in the easly stages of democracy.
Athens is full or restaurants and bars or 'tavernas'
and has many things to do in the day and evening.
The acropolis and the Parthenon Temple are the most famous
building in Athens, but the city also offers many churches,
beaches and a wide selection
of hotels to choose from.
A vistit to Athens is a great experience and one not
to be missed.
